Henry Westons Medium Dry Oak Aged Herefordshire Cider

This is one of the many ciders that Westons are putting out at the moment. It comes in a nice straightforward brown bottle in the standard "Henry Wesons" livery. Popping the cap causes a nice inviting hiss, and pouring reveals that this is a cider that borders on the fizzy.

The colour is a nice light yellow, and its clear not cloudy like one might expct from an Herefordshire cider. At 6.5% Henry Westons Medium dry is probably OK for drinking at an early summer picnic in that it won't muller you to the extent that you fall asleep dribbling in a field and then get rained on when the inevitable summer precipitation creeps over the horizon.

The cider is pretty much what it says on the label, a medium dry cider. Its not especially exciting but it does have a nice balance between sharp, sweet and bitter. Just not as much complexity as I might have liked from Westons. Mind you I often feel that way about coders that are towards the fizzier end of the spectrum.

I can certainly imagine myself quaffing this cider, but it isn’t perhaps as exciting as some of Westons other offerings. Still light-years ahead of Strongbow or, heaven forbid, White Lightning, of course, but somehow a little lacklustre.
